Hello and Welcome to Aunt Faye's Blog!

I thought it would be fun and helpful to create a place where family can follow Aunt Faye's progress, as she recovers from her hip injury. Until roughly April 13th, she will be living at Lakewood Quarters Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (skilled nursing facility) ...Perri :)

During dinner, I worked on this little heart for Leslie, who is doing the POA work. Aunt Faye Really wants to make a quilt, so I thought we'd start small with these felt squares...
I think they wanted Food!

St. Patrick's Day 3/17/2011

St Patrick's Day!! We sat outside for a bit, and enjoyed some Vitamin Sun!! For days, Aunt Faye didn't want to be taken outside, but today, I didn't ask, and just wheeled her out there...and she loved it and did not want to go back inside! We watched the ducks (they walked right up to us!)... the only reason we went inside was because it was dinner time...

Felt Flower 3/16/2011

Craft project for Wednesday...Aunt Faye watched and chatted, while I worked on this flower. She must have enjoyed watching, because she suggested we do more felt work on Thursday! :)

This is a collage made at Lakewood Quarters Assisted Living, where Aunt Faye has her apartment. They are holding her apartment for her, until her return from the rehab facility.
While I worked on these St. Patrick's decorations, Aunt Faye talked of life on the Missouri farm, and of St. Louis. She would like to move back to Missouri. :)

March 11 Visit to surgeon's office

First follow up visit to surgeon's office. The rehab hospital provided transportation! That's nurse Kellye, who works well with Aunt Faye! Today, the stitches were removed and Dr. Broyles said that, while it will take time for the broken bone to heal, things looked ok thus far.

Aunt Faye seemed in better spirits since this office visit provided a much needed change of scenery, and a few minutes in the sun!!
